Frequently Asked Questions

What is the density of water?

1,000 kg/m³, or 1 g/cm³, or 62.43 lb/ft³ at 4 °C. The metric system was built around this, which is why the number is exactly 1,000.

How dense is concrete?

Normal-weight concrete is about 2,400 kg/m³ (150 lb/ft³). Lightweight mixes run 1,400–1,900 kg/m³.

How do I get weight from density?

Multiply density by volume. 2 m³ of concrete at 2,400 kg/m³ weighs 4,800 kg.
